The newly-created company will provide Driver CPC training and apprenticeships to the logistics industry, working with logistics providers, sector skills councils, funding bodies and trade organizations to develop skills in the industry.
The business will operate from a national footprint of 20 training centers and a workforce of over 300 employees.
The company has been given until 10 September 2014 to complete the 35 hours required training. However, DHL fully expects to see in excess of 10,000 drivers qualify before then.
DHL will fund all the periodic Driver CPC qualification training for its internal drivers.
From September this year, all professional goods vehicle drivers will be required to hold a Driver's Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC).
